Introducing SPIRITUS: Belgian Shepherds |
My name is Charlotte Myers and I own the kennel name Spiritus. Spiritus Belgian Shepherds came to be in 2001 with the addition of my very first purebred dog, Belgian Shepherd Dog, Shay. Shay was an incredible "first" show dog. His incredibly stable temperament, coupled with the drive, beauty, and intelligence of the Belgian Shepherd breed brought many, many ribbons home. Spiritus is latin, meaning high spirit, inspiration, breath of life, and this is indeed what my Belgians are to me. |
Spiritus Belgians is located on 50 acres of prairie 40 miles north-west of Regina. We currently have 6 Belgians living with us. Yes, we do have kennel runs, but my dogs do not "live" in them. They are house pets, all of them - they eat, sleep, and play in the house, being kennelled only when necessary. Our breeding program is very selective, with high standards for temperament and health, breeding only quality to quality. Our goal is to breed healthy Belgians of stable temperament, with drive to work, intelligence to learn and make decisions, and structure that serves function both in the ring and out. The Belgian is a highly intelligent, active working dog that thrives when he has a job to do. |

Spiritus puppies all over North America are much loved pets, and many are training for the Conformation ring, the Obedience ring, Herding trials, and Agility trials. We hope to see them in their chosen field of competition soon. Charlotte |
