Introducing SHADOWDALE Perm. reg'd.: Boxers

My whole life has been spent in the company of Pure Bred dogs. My Father bred and showed Borzoi under the Cossack prefix before I was born and Wire Haired Fox Terriers under the Bar-B prefix when I was small. When I was eight years old we moved to the country and not long after that Dad & I rescued a Pure Bred Irish Setter that was being abused by a neighbour. After Duke died and even though I thought I would like to raise Setters, my sister gave me a Pure Bred Boxer female. Beauty, as we called her, was the start of my love affair with the breed and the beginning of Shadowdale.

All our dogs live in the house with us and are part of our family, including our puppies. A well socialized puppy makes a better pet and/or show dog. We like to stay in touch with those who adopt our babies. Our aim is to produce Boxers that are sound in mind and body and have true Boxer type.

We have produced over 50 Conformation Champions, more than 35 Champion producers, and many Obedience title holders and Champions. Our dogs have been used for Therapy work, many have Canine Good Citizen, Therapy Dog International, Agility and FlyBall tiles, but more importantly have done the work, and for Therapy, the visitations that these titles suggest.

Two of our dogs have worked on a day to day basis with a Psychiatrist in her practice. Shadowdale Boxers can be found in many parts of the world and we are proud of the contribution our dogs have made. We aim to have all our pups go to homes where they will live a long happy and life.

I am a Life Member of the Canadian Kennel Club, Honourary (Life) member of the Boxer Club of Canada (Membership Chair/ Assist. Web Admin/Awards Statistician), Charter Member of the Northern Ontario Boxer Club (President/Webmaster) and member of the Georgina Kennel & Obedience Club (webmaster).

Harley 'D' (1995-2006)

I first saw my Harley 'D' In 1996 at the Boxer Club of Canada Specialty Show and fell in love with him. He reminded me of a bitch I bred and adored in the 80's (Ch Shadowdale's Sheer Delight) I couldn’t resist, Harley came home with me that day. He was my constant companion and my heart dog! I can't tell you how much I miss him.

Harley did everything I could ask and more, from finishing his Canadian Championship in two weeekends starting with a Best of Breed and Group 4th at the Boxer Club of Canada Booster (July 1996) many breed wins & group placements a Specialty BOS & Best In Specialty Sweeps (all owner handled and in limited showing). I Specialed him on a limited basis the year after he finished his Can Ch and he never went home on a weekend without at least one Breed win and Group placement (several times over the Top Boxers in Canada). In 1998 at his first ever show as a Special in the US he was Best Opposite Sex at the Greater Cincinnati Boxer Club Specialty, owner handled!

Harley became a Sire of Merit on CANADA DAY 2000! Harley earned his first leg towards his CD at Georgina going 3rd in Novice B.

On the road to his American Championship in '97 Harley added to the 3 pt major he earned at 11 mos., and finished with 4 majors, in very short order. Handled by Linda Huffman.

HIs Kids & Grandkids, here at Shadowdale and elsewhere, carry on for him.
